SIMPLIFIED, PERIOD! AT A GLANCE

Period Poverty is the lack of access to sanitary products, menstrual hygiene education, toilets, hand-washing facilities, and, or, waste management.

It impacts the lives of young women and girls by sidelining them from equal participation in the educational system and work environment.  The phenomenon translates into excessive absences from school or work which leads to negative academic and employment outcomes such as failure or attrition/termination of employment.

The solution is to provide a sustainable product that allows young women to have access to menstrual products in tandem with an educational/awareness campaign.

Simplified, Period! plans to focus its operations in Philadelphia, PA initially and expand to other metropolitan and rural areas.
